What about Towson? Who do they have pitching for them this year? Any other notable additions? Towson will have a large squad this season. They have 8 seniors that will graduate and instead of bringing in 8 new faces next season the coaching staff brought in 5 or 6 this season. Roster might be as large at 22 players.. This past weekend they were rained out but 2 weekends ago they split a DH'er with Howard dropping the first one 3-2 in 8 and then winning the nightcap 13-3. Towson has a freshman pitcher from Vegas that not only threw the ball well but she also had some nice swings at the plate. Along with the freshman pitcher, Towson will be returning the other 3 pitchers from last season. Towson only graduated 2 players last season but they were two very talented players. The seniors will be called on to fill some big shoes. A little change this weekend, Towson was suppose to play Georgetown and Mt. Saint Mary's but GT pulled out. So TU will play the Mount in a DH'er...

I hear Georgetown is having a rough fall, a few injuries and practicing with only 9 healthy players

Well, the good thing for them is that Fall doesn't mean anything other than a chance to look at your new players.
It does set the tone a bit for the spring, but it's a long time between now and the start of the season.

I am sorry to hear that the Hoyas are getting such a rough start. I am definitely a fan of their coaching staff, and a BIG fan of one of their pitchers! It is only fall, but the work on defensive sets and baserunning will really be effected. This is the stuff that is hard to do inside, and fall will be the last time you can work on it outside before you start playing games that count. So you tend to REALLY count on this time to put that stuff together (hoping that your athletes can keep a semblance of the fall work together for the spring). I am sure they will find a way to fight through this. But, it is a pretty darn important time for preparation. This schedule interruption will be challenging to overcome.

I saw Megan Hyson at the Maryland games last week (at GW) and she looks as strong as I've ever seen her! She is really enjoying Georgetown....can't wait to see her play!
