I agree. How many of these parents will say, and regret, "you know it only seems like yesterday and she was........." Coaches coach, players play, and parents cheer. Pretty easy formula. At the end of the day, if the "mix" doesn't work for you, or really the kid, because it is NOT about the parent- then move on. No hard feelings. It's unnecessary, and it will spoil your time that should be used to enjoy watching your DD play. About your last 3 years; I think my best memories from softball were myself on the bucket, daughters throwing practice, each screaming at each other, or laughing about something stupid. We laugh about it today. Of course we never had a lot of drama to worry about. LOL!

All of my daughter's played softball while their Dad was out umpiring for 36 years and they all have good memories of varoius teams, both Rec and competitive. But. those years did go by too fast and the little drama from time to time fades very quickly.

Here's to having daughter's playing ball that we can stress over. Today's news out of Colorado kind of puts it all in perspective, doesn't it? Which is why people shouldn't stress over it.

Yup, so true. But also why people should have better things to do with their time than to come up with ways to be a jerk to someone who asks how fast a 16 year old is expected to throw.

Oh, boy, let me respond to this one. There is this thing called a "sense of humor." It is something many people have, some don't. I looked over the responses and they seemed fine, if a little sarcastic and humorous. Fact is no one can tell you how fast a 16 U pitcher should be "expected" to throw. I know pitchers who are fast and ineffective and some who are slow and effective. Sorry if your feelings got hurt.

Good Morning Softball Fans, Today starts ASA Gold Nationals in OK City. There are several teams from our region that you may want to follow. Wagners (whats up with the Sports 55 behind their logo?), Glory Gold and Ashburn Shooting Starts out of Va, NJ Breakers, TNT and runner ups from last year Newtown Rock Gold. At least these are some of the teams that I will be following and yes my region to follow needed to be expanded due to lack of MD teams represented. In case you are interested too here is the link. gold.asasoftball.com/
