Here's one for the record books. A player for Alderson-Broaddus hit 4 home runs against Shepherd University today. That probably has happened in a college game before. But she did it for the cycle. Solo shot, 2 run shot, 3 run homer, and a grand slam. I heard this from a Shepherd player so I wouldn't swear it's a fact but she said it happened. A song comes to mind for a certain upcoming game: "Walk on By" performed by Dionne Warwick www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZ63MCd7jPE

Ah, but it does leave a greater record to which to aspire. This particular feat was accomplished over two games. Can it be done in one?

A great day but I was disappointed to see it wasn't done in one game.

For the first time in their history, YOUR Arkansas Razorback softball team is ranked in the Top 25. Since they have a series with Tennessee this week, it will probably be short lived. It is still a great accomplishment for them though.

Nothing new here...just Weiman as usual... April 30, 2013
GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – NC State sophomore shortstop Renada Davis and sophomore pitcher Emily Weiman have been named Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, as announced Tuesday.
Davis led the Wolfpack offensive in a three-game sweep of Boston College, extending her hitting streak to nine consecutive games – all wins for NC State – to close out the regular season. During that streak, she has gone 18-for-35 (.514) with seven home runs and 16 RBIs.
A native of Tomball, Texas, Davis had ten hits in 15 at-bats in four games on the week, with a victory over Elon and the sweep of the Eagles. She connected on four home runs, including her first career grand slam, to move into a tie for the national lead with 24 on the season and is now five shy of the ACC single-season record of 29 set by Georgia Tech’s Jen Yee in 2010.
Weiman set an NC State school record with 28 wins in a season with four consecutive victories in the final week of the regular season. She closed out the season with wins in her final nine starts to set the new school mark and pass former ACC Pitcher of the Year Abbie Sims.
In the four starts last week, the righthander from Pasadena, Md., struck out 26 batters to go 4-0. She had a season-high 12 strike outs in the series opener against Boston College, as she earns her fifth ACC Pitcher of the Week honor this season.

Baseball team will be fine. They have too much pitching not to be. End of the year is when that starts to show and it is showing now. The softball doubleheader against Tennessee was rained out, so Arkansas won the only game. They moved up to #22 this week!!
