What tournaments are coming up? Whose team is playing this weekend and where are they playing? What were the results of this weekend's tournament?

Okay, got this tale about a certain showcase in Virginia this past weekend. Of course, everyone was fighting the rain but I am curious about the solution this tournament director devised.
When the fields were found unplayable, he decided to take the tournament inside and do 6 on 6 games late Saturday. Many teams left, some stayed. Don't know if any college coaches stayed. No fees were refunded.
What do you think of the solution? All games on Sunday were cancelled.

It wasn't a tale, it was a horrible situation. It didn't work well for anyone. On Friday night a msg was sent postponing play until noon on Saturday. It rained pretty much all night. Saturday wayyyyy after noon a few teams were able to get in one game as it poured. Games were stopped while the genisues came up with a solution to play 6 on 6 in an indoor soccer facility. Most of the day teams sat around. The teams that left got a refund, those that stayed got hosed. Some teams were playing late into Sunday morning. Oh the finally cancelled Sunday's games. College coaches? Yeah right. It was a total waste!

I know that they did this in Huntington Beach and down in Florida. But, that's totally different from what these guys did. Add to it all the fact that you had no college coaches there and it sounds like a total waste of time.

My daughter was there and also played outside and inside. Outside it was getting bad and I am glad NOBODY that I saw got hurt. Even though I did see a pitcher warming up between innings slip on the mud and fall almost on her face. Parents were standing with umberellas the whole game. Not a good situtaion to be playing in.
But I understand why the tried to move stuff inside.
BUt again when the last games ended at 12:45 AM. It was a little ridicilous.

Just as a heads-up: this came out re: the Field of Screams tourney: Coaches-
I wanted to let you know that although the schedule for the Field of Screams tournament has been posted on the Maryland/Delaware USSSA site at www.usssa1.com, several field assignments will be changing. This is as a result of some unanticipated issues we are having with our local Parks department. The times games are played and the opponent will remain unchanged but the locations may change.
I apologize for this change but will let you know the changes as soon as I have confirmed the new locations.

What are you hearing about Wagner's this year? Is Reese a Gold and Salisbury an "18A" team?

What are you hearing about Wagner's this year? Is Reese a Gold and Salisbury an "18A" team? There is only one Wagner's Gold and that is Reese's team. Saulsbury does not have a team at all. There is Wagner's Gold, Maryland Magic 16 U, Maryland Magic 14 U , Maryland Magic 12 U and Maryland Magic 10 U.
