The GW is a big fan of Jennie Finch. But if I were to spend $30 on her I would expect at least a drink and a dance. Just getting an autograph would just not do it for me. I am not in favor of paying for anyone's autograph. I would pay, however, and pay dearly for a text from Coach Watten. If I could only be on her contact list! I'd be curious what she would say to me. Would she ask me for my opinion on softball? Would she want to have dinner with me? Would she offer me a ride in the Hummer? Could she explain why she was unable to recruit a top flight pitcher but collects assistant coaches like knick knacks? Oh my, I am getting carried away. This prospect is far more exciting than spending 15 seconds getting Jennie Finch's autograph on a piece of paper. Defender of the Right to Dream

I agree with GW on this about the price of an autograph. I don't know who or what cause is making money off the event, and perhaps it is a good cause, but when I saw the price was $30, I didn't send it to our team.
JMO....

The Jennie Finch "enrichment" fund !!! Given that her husband has once again been released by a minor league baseball team, that fund probably needs replenishment. No, I won't be there tonight, but if she can make a living signing autographs, more power to her.

The conversation between me and the esteemed coach at Maryland would be worth more than the $30 Jenny Finch "hello elbow" conversation. To copy a line from a famous movie (A Few Good Men) she might hear from me "You can't handle the truth". It could result in a battle of the wits that would be a one sided affair. We could sell tickets to that and she could raise money to sign that Georgia pitcher. Let me get my head out of the clouds and come back to reality. Defender of the Right to Dream

The GW is planning to take the place of Jennie Finch down the road (a yellow brick one at that). To visit and talk with the GW you must bring the broom of the wicked witch of the West (aka JV Mom). Do not bring your little dog because I will be behind the curtain and am unable to be exposed. Besides Smartwater (aka Dorothy), I am expecting some other visitors. MrMan, who will be looking for a brain. Racsan, who is in need of a heart. And OpticY who needs some courage down there at Maryland. Don't expect Coach Watten to show because I believe a house has fallen on her. The Real Truf and the rest of his monkeys may try to harass you but don't be concerned because Surfishin and the Palace Guards will be there in a Security capacity. Coach 501 will be there teaching leadership skills and running the sander for anyone who is made of tin. The munchkins will be made up of kids who didn't make the Lake Shore 12U team and the Good Witch of the North will be in the form of Ms Drop Ball. There will be no charge for this session, unlike the highway robbery scheme that almost took place. So come down before the GW takes off in the large balloon heading for Kansas, or parts unknown.
